What a year Room 1 had in St.Roses!
After nine months of hard work & dedication it’s time for some well earned fun over the month of June!
Over the weeks of May & June we were doing some extensive research on The Great Irish Famine of 1845-51 which was a devastating time in Irish history. It has really helped us understand our place in history & to appreciate all the everyday things we have like our good health, nutritious food & our comfortable homes. It also raises our awareness of those still suffering similar aspects of famine in other countries today. We demonstrated our learning through class information projects & presented them as a “podcast” interview in class.
Active Schools Week was jam packed with activities from welly throwing to the whole school running the equivalent distance from Dublin to Galway! ASW also brought us to Co.Meath for our school tour which was one of the many highlights of the month. We really enjoyed so much of what Navan Adventure Centre had to offer; obstacle courses, golf football, space hopping and human foosball! We just rounded off our week with a visit from the ice cream van!
Summer 2022 we are ready for you!
